CAPNIA

Testing phase

CAPNIA is in testing and we are looking for people to try it out

Before we can publish the app on Google Play we have to run a closed test for 14 consecutive days. If you train apnea and own an Android, you can try it right now and help us get it ready.

News

Open testing starts on 1 September

From that date the closed test opens on Google Play and registered testers get the private link to install CAPNIA. Sign up before then and you are in from day one.

What happens that day

  1. 1The closed test opens in Google Play Console.
  2. 2We send the private link to everyone on the list.
  3. 3The 14 days with the app installed start counting.

What you need

  • A Gmail account: the same one you use on Google Play.
  • An Android phone or tablet.
  • To leave the app installed for 14 consecutive days.

How it works, step by step

  1. 1

    You fill in the form

You give us the Gmail address you use on Google Play. That is the essential detail: Google only accepts Google accounts on the tester list.

  2. 2

We add you to the list

We put your address into the closed test in Google Play Console and you get a private link. Without that step first, the link will not work for you.

  3. 3

    You tap "Become a tester"

Open the link on your Android, accept taking part, and CAPNIA installs from the official Play Store like any other app.

  4. 4

You keep it 14 days and train

Google counts the days by itself, as long as the app stays installed and tied to your account. Train your CO₂, O₂, Apnea Walk or Pranayama tables and tell us what breaks.

What you get

Free, priority access

Every feature unlocked, and new ones before anyone else.

A direct line to the developer

Your suggestions reach the person writing the code, with no support forms in between.

A mention in the credits

Your name or handle will appear in the app as a Founding Tester.

Sign up as a tester

Fill this in and we will add you to the Google Play Console list.

Required: Google only accepts Gmail accounts on the tester list.

We use your details only to add you to the Google Play tester list and keep you posted on the test. We do not share them with anyone and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Questions about the test

Do I have to send screenshots or reports?

No. Google keeps count on its own: the console shows active testers and consecutive days accumulated. All you have to do is leave the app installed. Any feedback you want to send us is welcome, but optional.

Can I uninstall it before the 14 days are up?

Better not. The counter measures consecutive days with the app installed and the account attached. If you remove it, the count suffers and publication is delayed for everyone.

Why does it have to be Gmail?

Because the Google Play Console tester list only accepts Google accounts. If your usual address is not Gmail, give us the one you sign in to the Play Store with.

What happens after the 14 days?

We request the move to production, Google reviews the request — usually 24 to 72 hours — and if all goes well CAPNIA is published for everyone. We will let you know.
